  Christian Money

Real Life Money Management's
Is Your Money Christian Money

Most Americans claim to be Christian, but do they management their money by Christian ideals?  What are the basic things we are called to do with regards to our money as Christians?  Do we do these things when it comes to managing our money?  Is the money we have considered Christian Money or is it not?

The basic thing we need to remember is that the resources we have are, like all things, given to us by God.  Money is one of the resources we are given.  We must take care of it so it will take care of us.  The number one thing we need to remember as Christians is that our money is Gods money, first and foremost.  It does not belong to us, though we may convince ourselves it does.

The first thing God asked us to do with the money He gives us is to tithe, which means give ten percent of it away.  What are some good things about tithing?

First, it is what God has asked us to do.  He could have asked for more since it all comes from Him anyway so we should feel very fortunate that he only asked for 10 percent back.

Another thing is that by tithing it allows us to be masters of our money.  The love of money is at the root of all evil and I think most would agree with that age old statement.  By giving a portion of your money it puts you in command of your money rather than allowing it to be your master.

Another reason to tithe is that when you are able that probably means there are those less fortunate than yourself.  You should always reach out and help those in need who are less fortunate.  Tithing gives us a great opportunity to help our fellow mankind.  The 10-20-70 Plan and the 10-70-20 Plan is built upon the principles of tithing and saving as God has asked us to do as Christians.

As a Christian we should manage our money wisely.  Once we have tithed we should take care of the remainder in a responsible manner.  This means saving for the future so we can take care of ourselves and our loved ones as we are called to do.  You should never spend your money unwisely as that is not what God has called us to do as Christians.  You should budget your money ensuring you have enough to save for emergencies, future needs, and not be living above your means with debt.

I have intentionally not mentioned one Bible verse in this strategy.  I could go through and list a whole list of them that would teach us how to be wise with our money as Christians.  The Holy Bible is full of wisdom and I suggest you study it and manage your money according to Biblical Principles.

All I want you to do as a Christian is look in your wallet or purse or bank account and ask yourself is that Christian money or not?  You should live your life like a Christian in every way and that includes your finances.  This may seem like a huge sacrifice, but remember Christ hang on the Cross for us so whatever sacrifices we make pales in comparison.

Be sure and follow the Real Life Money Management Guiding Principles.  These principles can get you started on the road to financial freedom.  If you're struggling to make ends meet financially make sure and study up on Real Life Money Management and learn how we remain financially free.
